AT&T is charging a CA couple $300 for the satellite dish they didn’t retrieve as their house burned down. http://consumerist.com/consumer/videos/att-asks-ca-wildfire-victims-if-they-remembered-to-pick-up-satellite-receiver-as-they-fled-their-burning-house-315421.php
While they are within their rights because it was rented equipments, which would cost them more: writing off the cost of the receiver and telling the customer that AT&T understands the extenuating circumstances and will waive the fees, or thoroughly upsetting a customer and lots of bad PR?
