Below is a copy of my email to Vita Cost, I’m very disappointed with their recent customer service. This long time customer will no longer be shopping with Vita Cost as I’ve placed my order with iHerb.com this afternoon. Their prices were comparable if not cheaper and shipping was less as well.

I am so frustrated with the lack of customer service from Vita Cost and the many mis-communications in the company. My order was placed back on November 1st – after not receiving my order I emailed asking about it. I was told the Arnica was out of stock so that was holding up the order. It would not be available until after the 9th.

I replied to just remove the arnica from my order and ship my items ASAP. I never received a reply so again I waited and waited wondering if my items would show up and again, nothing. So I call the customer service number and tell them my situation – she tells me that the Nutri Stars were out of stock and that’s why it hasn’t shipped. I check the website and my current order and it is not showing as out of stock.

To make a long story short she tells me we can cancel the order since I’m very frustrated at this point and need the kids vitamins as they were both coming down with colds and I would need to shop locally instead if they weren’t sent out today.

*** Please note that I really needed these items and after 14 days I couldn’t wait for something to be in stock at this point. I would have rather of had my order shipped then to have to cancel it. ***

A short while later I’m checking emails and I find this shipping notice from Vita Cost. I think to myself “great they got the order out so I don’t need to go to the local whole foods store” I was very happy about this after waiting so long.

I was out all day yesterday and expected to come home to my order as I’m on the other coast of FL and it usually arrives the next day. No box so I click the link in this email to see where the package is only to find this . . .

THE SHIPPER HAS REQUESTED A DELIVERY INTERCEPT FOR THIS PACKAGE / RETURN TO SENDER PENDING

Why the heck would the package be intercepted and returned if it was almost here? Why did the lady on the phone not tell me that it had been shipped? Why were my original emails not answered? What has gone wrong with the great customer service I used to receive from Vita Cost? What can you do to make this right and keep me as a customer?

In the end Vita Cost did nothing to remedy their mistakes and as a result lost me as a valuable customer. Guess I wasn’t that valuable after all, huh?

Spin Master Recalls Aqua Dots – Children Became Unconscious After Swallowing Beads

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Aqua Dots

Units: About 4.2 million

Distributor: Spin Master, of Toronto, Canada

Hazard: The coating on the beads that causes the beads to stick to each other when water is added contains a chemical that can turn toxic when many are ingested. Children who swallow the beads can become comatose, develop respiratory depression, or have seizures.

Incidents/Injuries: CPSC has received two reports over the past several days of children swallowing Aqua Dots. A 20-month-old child swallowed several dozen beads. He became dizzy and vomited several times before slipping into a comatose state for a period of time, was hospitalized, and has since fully recovered. A second child also vomited and slipped into a comatose state and was hospitalized for five days.

Description: The recalled toy is a craft kit which allows children to create various multi-dimensional designs using small colored beads. The beads fuse together when sprayed with water. The recall applies to all models of Aqua Dots. The product is available in various different kits with accessories such as a drying fan, applicator pen, design templates for the beads, and spray bottle. The product is labeled for ages 4+.

Sold at: Mass merchandisers nationwide from April 2007 through November 2007 for between $17 and $30.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled toy away from children and contact Spin Master to return for free replacement beads or a toy of equal value.

ConAgra recalled Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Great Value
Peanut Butter products beginning with product code 2111 after
the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention produced a
report revealing the possibility of a link to salmonella.

Consumers should discard the bottles, but save the product
lid. A full refund is available by sending the lid along with their
name and mailing address to ConAgra Foods , Post Office Box 57078,
Irvine, Calif. 92619-7078.
Consumers with questions or concerns about the recall can call the
24- hour toll-free hotline at (866) 344-6970. More information about

The FDA has now approved a virus-cocktail spray that might prevent
listeriosis. The spray, called LMP 102, is a mixture of six different
special viruses called bacteriophages — viruses that infect only
bacteria, not people, animals or plants.

Even though these bacteriophages cannot infect people, are they safe?

Not completely. Bacteriophages, like all viruses, contain protein.
These proteins can cause allergic reactions, just like milk proteins
cause milk allergies.

The bacteriophages might also get into battle with the friendly
bacteria in the digestive system, making it harder for the body to
digest food. But that's a risk the FDA already takes by allowing the
use of antibiotics on farms.

According to the U.S. Department of
Agriculture , use of this spray will have to be marked on the food just
like any other ingredient on the label.

Consumers might soon see the words "bacteriophage
preparation" on cold cuts. While this preparation is intended to make
food safer, it does not come without its own risks.

Do a google search and you'll find more info then you care to know on this. I'm convinced my family will NOT be eating these meats. I myself gave up meat about 6 months ago but now my job is to convince my husband that our kids do not need to be eating toxic meat!
