easy inexpensive Halloween Spookies

Easy to do and lots of fun. Halloween or any time.

Make your dried apple heads and sting them like garland. Hang the shruken heads around your door or place them on the table of goodies.

Dried Apple Heads
apples
whole cloves
a few grains of rice
1/2 C lemon juice
2 tsp. salt

Peel a large apple and coat with mixture of lemon juice and 2 teaspoons of salt to prevent browning. With a potato peeler or small knife carve out eye sockets, a nose, mouth and ears. Don’t worry about carving small details as they will be lost when the apple dries. Go for the big features and nature will take care of the rest.

Use whole cloves for eyes and raw rice grains for teeth (the faces also come out looking great without these extra props, just carve and let dry if you want to keep it simple).

Sit apples on a wire rack in a warm, dry place for about 2 weeks. Shape the faces as they shrink and harden. You can speed the drying process a little by drying in an oven set at the lowest temperature. However, the process will still take several days.

What are you waiting for? GO, go make them NOW!

Gross Dessert Recipes for Halloween or any time

Kids like GROSSY and YUCKY so why not give it to them.

Here are some gross looking great tasting recipes all kids big and little will enjoy.

Pigeon Poop
Made with white chocolate, mini marshmallows and pretzels, this is a yummy snack for Halloween.
INGREDIENTS:
5 cups of peanut butter crunch cereal
3 cups of Rice Krispies
2 cups of skinny pretzels/broken in half
2 lbs. of white chocolate
2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
PREPARATION:
Mix all dry ingredients in large bowl. Melt white chocolate in double boiler or microwave oven. Pour melted chocolate over the dry ingredients and spread out on wax paper to cool. Break into chunks.

Vampire’s Blood Shake
This blood-red shake is healthy and fun for your kids at Halloween.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups plain yogurt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 package frozen starwberries or raspberries, thawed
ice cubes
1 pint strawberry ice cream
PREPARATION:
Mix yogurt, vanilla, and berries in the blender. Pour into tall glasses over ice cubes and top with a large spoonful of strawberry ice cream.

Kitty Litter Cake
1 spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
2 large pkg vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared (I like Bird’s® dessert mix)
1 large pkg vanilla sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls®

1 new kitty litter pan
1 new plastic kitty litter pan liner
1 new pooper scooper

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).

Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.

Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix until completely colored.

When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. Important: mix in just enough of the pudding to moisten it. You don’t want it too soggy. Combine gently.

Line a new, clean kitty litter box. Put the cake/pudding/cookie mixture into the litter box.

Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls bury them in the mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly on top of everything — this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.

Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake; sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Spread remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top; take one and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect!

Sewer Soda Recipe
1 quart Chocolate chocolate chip ice cream
3/4 cup Chocolate syrup
1 liter Club soda
tootsie rolls

Directions:
Let ice cream sit at room temperature untilit is easy to scoop.
Spoon ice cream into glasses until it is about halfway full. Pour or squeeze about 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup into each glass.
Slowly fill almost to the top with club soda and stir well with a spoon. Serve with a straw and tall spoon for excavating those luscious brown lumps.
Plop an unwrapped tootsie roll into each glass.

This recipe for Sewer Soda serves/makes 4

Edible Spiders
Royal Icing
16 oz powdered sugar (icing sugar)
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
Beat until peaks firmly hold their shape, and the more you beat it, the firmer it gets.
Add black paste food coloring to get it as dark as possible
Form the icing into spider shapes on waxed paper. VERY FRAGILE but harden quickly.

FOR THE ADULT PARTY –

Savory Brain Shrimp Spread
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
8 ounces Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
1 (.25-ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin, softened in 1/4 cup water
1 bunch green onions, chopped
3 pounds cooked shrimp, coarsely chopped
(or 1 pound crab meat)
1 cup mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
Tabasco or creole seasoning to taste

Heat soup, undiluted, and mix in the cream cheese. Stir in softened gelatin and blend well. Fold in remaining ingredients and pour into a lightly-oiled brain mold. Chill until firm and serve with your favorite crackers.

The most practical Christmas Gifts!

The most practical Christmas Gifts!

Ok, I been thinking and researching what the most practial gift ideas really are.

I decided on 2 different ones. BUT for now I am only going to share one of them with you.

The first is WD-40! Now wait! Don’t think I am nuts yet!

I was sent this list of 45 uses for WD-40. I had no clue that you could removes lipstick stains or use it to catch fish.

Seriously, did you know that?

Here are the list of 45 uses for wd-40

Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a “water displacement” compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The Corvair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you.

When you read the “shower door” part, try it. It’s the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It’s a miracle!

1.. Then try it on your stovetop… Voila! It’s now shinier than it’s ever been. You’ll be amazed.
2.. Here are some of the uses:
3.. Protects silver from tarnishing.
4.. Removes road tar and grime from cars.
5.. Cleans and lubricates gui tar strings.
6.. Gives floors that ‘just-waxed’ sheen without making it slippery.
7.. Keeps flies off cows.
8.. Restores and cleans chalkboards.
9.. Removes lipstick stains.
10.. Loosens stubborn zippers.
11.. Untangles jewelry chains.
12.. Removes stains from stainless steel sinks.
13.. Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill.
14.. Keeps ceramic/terra cotta garden pots from oxidizing.
15.. Removes tomato stains from clothing.
16.. Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots.
17.. Camouflages scratches in ceramic and marble floors.
18.. Keeps scissors working smoothly.
19.. Lubricates noisy door hinges on vehicles and doors in homes.
20.. Gives a children’s play gym slide a shine for a super fast slide.
21.. Lubricates gear shift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on riding mowers.
22.. Rids kids rocking chairs and swings of squeaky noises.
23.. Lubricates tracks in sticking home windows and makes them easier to open.
24.. Spraying an umbrella stem makes it easier to open and close.
25.. Restores and cleans padded leather dashboards in vehicles, as well as vinyl bumpers.
26.. Restores and cleans roof racks on vehicles.
27.. Lubricates and stops squeaks in electric fans.
28.. Lubricates wheel sprockets on tricycles, wagons, and bicycles for easy handling.
29.. Lubricates fan belts on washers and dryers and keeps them running smoothly.
30.. Keeps rust from forming on saws and saw blades, and other tools.
31.. Removes splattered grease on stove.
32.. Keeps bathroom mirror from fogging.
33.. Lubricates prosthetic limbs.
34.. Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell).
35.. Removes all traces of duct tape.
36.. Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve arthritis pain.
37.. Florida’s favorite use is: “cleans and removes love bugs from grills and bumpers.”
38.. The favorite use in the state of New York–WD-40 protects the Statue of Libertyfrom the elements.
39.. WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a LITTLE on live bait or lures and you will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it’s a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states.
40.. Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and stops the itch.
41.. WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag.
42.. Also, if you’ve discovered that your teenage daughter has washed and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and re-wash. Presto! Lipstick is gone!
43.. If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to start.
44.. It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor! Use WD-40 for those nasty tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn’t seem to harm the finish and you won’t have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks.
45.. Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed quickly! Use WD-40! P. S. The basic ingredient is FISH OIL

Grocery Bag Ghost

Everyone loves free stuff and these are FREE to make!!!

Materials

- 2 white plastic grocery bags
- Scissors
- Black magic marker
- White thread and a needle

Instructions
Cut the handles off of one grocery bag. Save them.

If the bag has any store markings on the front, cut off the front of the bag.

Roll the second grocery bag and the front from the first grocery bag, into a ball. Place this into the center of the first grocery bag and bring the edges together to form the head.

Using one of the bag handles, wrap it around the head and tie into a knot. Fluff out the ends of the handle to form arms.

Use the magic marker to make eyes and mouth.

With threaded needle, insert needle through the head (into both bags so thread won’t pull out) to form a string to hang your ghost.

Make several to hang around the house or on the trees outside as yard decorations!

Fun for everyone to make and hang out on the tree!

Boogers On A Stick – Just in time for Halloween

Don’t you just love the goofy gross Halloween recipes and ideas you can find? Well, I had to share this one with all of you! Enjoy!

Boogers On A Stick
Great for any halloween party!!!
Kids and adults will love it!

8 oz Jar cheez whiz
Green food coloring
25 To 30 pretzel sticks

Waxed paper
Long handled spoon
Platter

Melt the cheeze whiz in the microwave or on top of the stove, according to directions on the jar.

Allow the cheese to cool slightly in the jar.

Using a long handled spoon, carefully stir about three drops of green food coloring into the warm cheese, using just enough to turn the cheese a delicate snot green.

To form boogers: Dip and twist the tip of each pretzel stick into the cheese, lift out, wait twenty seconds, then dip again. When cheese lumps reach an appealingly boogerish size, set pretzels, booger down, onto a sheet of waxed paper.

Allow finished boogers on a stick to cool at room temperature for ten minutes or until cheese is firm.

Gently pull boogers off waxed paper and arrange on a serving platter. Serves 5 to 6 booger buddies.

Sicko Serving Suggestion: Place a bowl of chunky red salsa in the center of the platter so that guests can turn plain buggers into bloody ones.
